In the heart of Toronto’s Nobu Hotel, a metal installation descends like cascading waterfalls. Studio Munge entrusted Lasvit with their bold vision—a breathtaking, illuminated centerpiece spanning 8.2 meters in height.
Lasvit senior designer Mária Čulenová embraced the challenge, transforming metal mesh, an unconventional medium for the brand, into a poetic interplay of form and light. Inspired by the delicate overlapping of kimono lapels, the piece features nine fluid layers of finely detailed metal drapery.
Crafting the Mesh Chandelier demanded technical precision and artistic finesse. From selecting the ideal mesh with its intricate stitch size to balancing lighting for the perfect illumination, every element was meticulously considered. It stands as a testament to Lasvit’s ability to transcend glass and bring a designer’s dream into reality—delivering craftsmanship and beauty in unexpected materials.
