The iconic hotel shines again
Fifty years ago, the Gulf Hotel Convention & Spa stood right on the shores of the Arabian Gulf and was regarded as an icon of luxurious hospitality. And now, the shimmer of those by-gone times is back on scene. The hotel was renovated and refurbished, and now dazzles the eye with crystal chandeliers which fill its many spaces with sparkling beauty.
Colourful flowers
Six outstanding flowers adorn the ceiling of the ballroom. Each flower is 3 meters wide and its beauty is further enhanced by dynamic lighting. The flowers can change color across the whole RGBW spectrum.
Twill
The sculpture is made of a special material called “Twill” - our patented “crystal fabric,” which is basically a sheet composed of thousands of crystal beads woven into a fabric ideal for tailor-made chandeliers. “Each bead is hand-cut and polished for added luster and very high light refraction,” says designer Táňa Dvořáková.
Fragile whirl
The hotel’s three spaces have the same aesthetic feel. The fragile cone-shaped installations were assembled from hundreds of hand-blown components. Overall, 672 identical pieces had to be made to create the sculptures for the pre-function, multifunction and dining areas. The Whirls were designed by Petra Krausová.
Raindrops
The lighting for the staircase look like organically shaped bubbles or raindrops and give the impression that they are gently drizzling towards the ground. Each bubble is made of crystal glass. The installation for the staircase was designed by Jana Růžičková.
