Kaifeng is especially known for its love of chrysanthemums. The tradition of cultivating these plants goes back to the fifth century AD and, since 1983, there have been regular chrysanthemum festivals, where people from all over the world can feast their eyes on their myriad color variations and composition. And you can find one of the biggest of these blossoms in the Pullman Hotel.
The lighting sculpture in a hotel lobby, provides the sensation of gentle rain, the life blood of any successful gardening project.
The installation comprises of five various perspectives on the chrysanthemum blossom, the largest of which is a full eight meters in diameter.
