Lasvit Debuted at Design Miami 2024 with Three New Installations

Design Miami 2024 offered a platform for Lasvit to debut three groundbreaking installations, redefining the possibilities of glass as a medium. Whether you visited us at Booth X04 or followed along from afar, here’s a look back at what made this showcase unforgettable.

Groundbreaking Type of Glass

At the heart of Lasvit's presentation at Design Miami was Herbarium Radiant, designed by Head Designer Mária Čulenová and Head of Lighting Jan Formánek. This groundbreaking piece introduced an innovative type of glass had crafted from repurposed waste. These oxides integrate into the glass, allowing for subtle control over color emphasis, transforming light into vibrant, ethereal hues. As the colors shift and merge, viewers were enveloped in a kaleidoscopic visual experience.

Vases That Erupt with Raw Elegance

Maxim Velcovsky's Magmatic vases were created in collaboration with some of the world's best glassblowers and celebrated the untamed energy of glass creation. These dramatic, flowing forms echoed the raw power of molten glass, inviting visitors to witness a moment frozen in time.

From Beach to Glass

Lasvit also unveiled Grain of Sand, an installation by US Head Designer Jana Růžičková, inspired by Miami’s coastal landscape and its parallels with one of Lasvit’s essential elements—sand. This mirrored piece reflects the transformative journey from sand to glass, embodying both Miami's iconic beaches and the heart of the glassmaking process.
