I do not want to be a glassmaker. To work with only one type of material is always limiting. A person must be open to everything. However, glass constitutes an important part of my life, it is a form of relaxation for me.
Bořek Šípek (1949 – 2016) was a renowned Czech architect and designer. He focused on architecture and product design for international manufacturers and individual furniture producers. At the request of the former Czech president Václav Havel, he was appointed Court Architect of the Prague Castle. His work has been featured in numerous solo exhibitions and can be found in the permanent collections of many museums worldwide.
